We are in search of a distinguished DevOps/Cloud/Platform Engineer who is enthusiastic about designing and developing digital financial services to support our swift expansion.
Role Overview
Our software engineers are specialists in software engineering, capable of providing technical leadership and direction based on their extensive experience. Their strong communication skills enable them to articulate their decisions and reasoning clearly, while managing and guiding expectations effectively. Their deep understanding of software development empowers them to translate business needs into the design and creation of industry-leading solutions.
We are looking for a highly driven DevOps Engineer with a focus on Security, who is dedicated to implementing and maintaining security measures across our infrastructure and applications. In this role, you will ensure the security of our systems and processes, collaborating with cross-functional teams to devise and implement security solutions that align with business objectives. A robust understanding of both DevOps practices and security best practices is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and enhance our cloud infrastructure, including provisioning, configuration, and monitoring on platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Analyze system performance, identify bottlenecks, and proactively optimize resources for peak performance and cost-effectiveness.
- Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration using scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
- Integrate security into the DevOps lifecycle by implementing security controls, conducting security assessments, and continuously monitoring for vulnerabilities or threats.
- Diagnose and resolve issues related to the cloud environment, databases, and associated technologies promptly.
- Implement and maintain security tools, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and other security technologies.
- Develop and uphold security policies and procedures for our cloud environment.
- Stay informed about the latest trends, tools, and best practices in cloud technologies, relational databases, and security to continuously improve our infrastructure and processes.
- Foster security awareness and best practices throughout the organization.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in DevOps, with a concentration on managing and optimizing cloud environments.
- Strong expertise in relational database administration, including performance tuning, backup and recovery, and security (e.g., Oracle, PostgreSQL).
- Solid grasp of networking concepts, security protocols, and best practices for securing cloud infrastructure and databases.
- Familiarity with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
- Strong knowledge of DevOps methodologies and best practices.
- Proficient in scripting and automation, such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication abilities.
- Experience with cloud-based infrastructure, such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team setting.
- Strong attention to detail and capability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Passion for organizational security, with a strong desire to promote and implement security best practices across the company.
Additional Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with a global or multicultural team.
- Experience in remote team environments.
- Background in red teaming is a plus.
- Familiarity with Compliance-as-Code is advantageous.
- Knowledge of financial regulatory topics is beneficial.
- Experience leading a team of DevSecOps professionals.
- Proficiency in the German language is a plus.
- Prior experience in a security role within the German fintech sector is highly regarded.
