Financial Accountant

Borussia Dortmund GmbH & Co. KGaA, a renowned sports organization and publicly traded company with over 900 employees, is seeking a dedicated Financial Accountant to join their finance team in Dortmund.

As a key member of the finance department, you will play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records.

Your Responsibilities:
  • Independently record daily business transactions with precision.
  • Contribute to the timely preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Provide support in regular licensing procedures, ensuring compliance and efficiency.
  • Manage and account for creditor contracts, maintaining accurate records and fostering strong relationships.
  • Prepare commission settlements, ensuring fair and transparent distribution.
  • Independently reconcile accounts, verifying accuracy and identifying discrepancies.
  • Continuously manage and reconcile offsetting accounts, maintaining a balanced ledger.
  • Support liquidity planning efforts, contributing to the organization's financial stability.
  • Prepare and process various payment transactions, ensuring timely and accurate execution.
Your Profile:
  • Possess a completed commercial training with successful further education as a Financial Accountant or equivalent business studies with a focus on finance.
  • Demonstrate relevant professional experience in financial accounting, showcasing practical expertise.
  • Exhibit extensive accounting knowledge and experience with HGB (German Commercial Code).
  • Experience with IFRS accounting is highly desirable, demonstrating adaptability to international standards.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems, particularly Microsoft BC, is essential for efficient data management.
  • Maintain an independent, structured, and proactive work style, consistently delivering high-quality results.
  • Demonstrate a strong sense of responsibility and resilience under pressure, handling demanding tasks effectively.
  • Possess good English language skills for effective communication within a global environment.
