Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Scientist to join our team at Heraeus. As a Senior Scientist, you will be responsible for developing new types of special glasses to improve process applications in the semiconductor industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop new types of special glasses to improve process applications in the semiconductor industry.
  • Support complex product development projects in the field of quartz glass and high-melting point glasses.
  • Plan and organize experiments in the melting pilot plant and evaluate them.
  • Identify complex and technically relevant problems in the field of high-melting point glasses, determine their root causes and develop and recommend appropriate solutions.
  • Anticipate and protect technologies, processes, materials and products through appropriate patent applications.
  • Interact internally with the Product Management, Sales and Operations functions and externally with customers, research institutions and cooperation partners to ensure the success-critical aspects of innovation projects.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in physics, chemistry or materials science, doctorate desirable.
  • Many years of professional experience in the implementation and evaluation of experiments and their documentation.
  • Proven experience in the development of quartz glass or high-melting glasses.
  • Knowledge in the field of high-temperature melting systems.
  • Very good organizational skills and project management knowledge.
  • Fluency in written and spoken German and English.
  • Ability to work in a team, creativity and a solution-oriented approach, responsive to target groups.
