Global Legal Counsel Opportunity

Merz Therapeutics is seeking a highly skilled Global Legal Counsel to join our team. As a key member of our global legal team, you will play a critical role in shaping the company's legal strategy and providing expert advice on complex legal matters.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of agreements, including global contracts for our affiliate Merz Pharmaceuticals LLC.
  • Provide business-focused and reliable legal advice to internal stakeholders on various topics, such as clinical studies, marketing, and medical projects.
  • Identify and analyze legal risks, and develop and implement sound solutions to mitigate them in relation to our business relationship with our US subsidiary.
  • Collaborate with the tax department on intercompany contracts and restructuring projects.
  • Coordinate and manage external counsel as required for advice across various jurisdictions.

Requirements:

  • Fully qualified US Lawyer with several years of experience in an international law firm or industry, ideally in a pharmaceutical company.
  • Excellent knowledge of commercial and contract law, preferably knowledge of pharmaceutical and medical law.
  • Expertise in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating complex contracts.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, ideally German as well.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to present complex issues to various target groups.
  • Independent, proactive, and customer-oriented working style.
  • Team player with intercultural competence, strong communication, and excellent organizational skills.
