Position Overview
As a Senior Staff Field Applications Engineer specializing in E/E and IVI applications within the EMEA region, you will be instrumental in advancing our premier analog, power, sensing, and digital solutions by delivering exceptional application engineering support to our clientele. Your contributions will also be vital in shaping the future of Renesas Automotive Products through close collaboration with customer engineering teams and internal application engineering and marketing divisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design-in initiatives for the comprehensive automotive product lineup in E/E and IVI applications across the EMEA region.
- Collaborate with innovative clients and internal technical marketing and applications teams to define new product offerings.
- Serve as a technical liaison, advising customers throughout the development of automotive applications, with a specific emphasis on OEMs.
- Analyze customer system requirements and market dynamics to create system value propositions in partnership with internal stakeholders (Product Marketers, Application Engineers, System Architects).
- Develop a thorough understanding of various ADAS/AD product architectures and partner ecosystems (camera, perception, sensor, etc.) to guide customers towards optimal system designs.
- Manage projects in conjunction with Sales and Marketing teams to meet design-in objectives for the entire Renesas automotive product range.
- Establish and nurture strong relationships with customer engineering departments, particularly focusing on OEMs.
- Support global and regional innovation initiatives and cross-functional teams.
- Proactively engage with global cross-functional teams, broaden your internal network, and share insights to foster global business growth.
- Facilitate technical discussions with System Architects and Application Engineering specialists to collaboratively define application roadmaps and product technical specifications.
- Work closely with Application Engineers and Product Marketers, as well as local and global partners, to produce documentation (guides, application notes, whitepapers) and system demonstrators that integrate software and hardware.
- Conduct application training sessions for FAEs, Sales teams, Distributors, and customers.
- Present Renesas' technologies, products, and applications at technical seminars.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will possess strong listening skills and a passion for building trustworthy relationships. You should set ambitious objectives, leverage the expertise of your colleagues, and share your knowledge effectively. A commercial mindset will help you prioritize technical activities based on profitability considerations.
Qualifications
- A degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, including at least 5 years in E/E and IVI applications.
- Experience in hardware/software development of automotive applications, preferably with Automotive Tier-1s or OEMs.
- Ability to understand automotive system technical requirements and propose optimized products and solutions.
- In-depth knowledge of semiconductors, including SoC, MCU, Analog & Power products.
- Familiarity with automotive communication interfaces such as Ethernet (AVB/TSN), CANFD, LIN, USB 2.0/3.0, PCIe, SerDes, etc., is essential for identifying interconnect constraints within and external to the ECU.
- Experience in developing systems with Functional Safety and Cybersecurity is preferred.
- Motivated to initiate and drive projects to completion, with an openness to working in an international context.
- Basic understanding of development and manufacturing costs for commercial evaluation of optimal system solutions to propose to customers.
- Leadership capabilities to guide project development and negotiate optimal solutions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
