Overview of Your Role
The Cost and Value Engineering (CVE) division is pivotal in ensuring cost clarity and enhancement for acquired materials, components, and systems within the Siemens Energy product range.
Your Responsibilities
As a CVE Procurement Engineer, you will spearhead various initiatives aimed at generating cost-efficient strategies, engage with suppliers, and ensure the implementation of measures for external clients.
You will also play a crucial role in representing Siemens Energy Procurement during the creation of new products and the exploration of emerging markets, collaborating closely with R&D Project Managers to meet project objectives.
Key Contributions
- Serve as the primary liaison for CVE and Procurement concerning electrolyzer auxiliary systems (e.g., compressors, transformers, rectifiers, packaging).
- Formulate and execute effective cost-reduction strategies in close cooperation with cross-functional teams (e.g., R&D, Engineering, Procurement, Manufacturing, Bid Management).
- Collaborate actively with Marketing, Sales, and Project Procurement during the bidding phases of new or enhanced product offerings.
- Represent Procurement in selected critical R&D initiatives to develop the most competitive products aligned with market demands and drive standardization and automation.
- Act as a technical partner for Procurement to devise and implement effective sourcing strategies across various material categories (commodities).
- Utilize the expertise and innovative capabilities of our suppliers and conduct technology scouting in collaboration with Procurement and R&D.
- Assist in the market launch of new products through early Procurement involvement and strategic partnerships with suppliers in new applications and service ventures.
Your Qualifications
- A technical degree in electrical, mechanical, or industrial engineering with a strong interest in commercial aspects.
- Extensive professional experience in the energy or industrial applications sector, with roles in engineering, R&D, project management, or supply chain.
- Relevant technical knowledge of electrolyzer systems and their auxiliaries is preferred.
- Strong project management, interpersonal, and communication skills, particularly in interactions with internal stakeholders and senior management.
- A passion for facilitating collaboration among internal and external experts in a goal-oriented manner (e.g., workshops).
- A curious, proactive, and fast-learning mindset, driven by results with excellent prioritization abilities.
- Proficiency in English and German.
