Within the framework of the «Human Microbe Alliance for Universal Health» (HUMAN) initiative, we are in search of a dedicated Scientific Project Manager to deliver extensive support to our research teams. The role encompasses project oversight and control primarily for the HUMAN initiative, along with additional related research endeavors. The Scientific Project Manager will collaborate closely with both administrative and scientific divisions at HZI and will be integrated into the newly formed Research Support Office within the HUMAN initiative.
• Autonomous management and oversight of projects, alongside effective project communication utilizing suitable tools.
• Planning and tracking of milestones and deadlines in conjunction with the responsible researchers.
• Development and upkeep of project documentation.
• Financial oversight and assistance in budget management.
• Close collaboration with partners, relevant stakeholders, and scientific leadership.
• Preparation of posters, presentations, and comprehensive reports.
• A completed scientific university degree or Master's degree in a relevant field (e.g., life sciences or related disciplines).
• Proven experience in project work and management; familiarity with project management tools such as OpenProject is highly desirable.
• Exceptional communication abilities in both English and German, both written and verbal.
• A proactive attitude combined with the capability to prioritize multiple tasks, especially under tight deadlines.
• A technical background and comprehension of life sciences research is advantageous.
• Meticulous attention to detail, dependability, and commitment.
• Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team.
