Position Overview
As an Area/Shift Manager at Amazon, you will be responsible for overseeing a large and diverse workforce to ensure that your operational area meets the demands of the business. This role is hands-on and will provide you with insights into the complexities of global operations, as well as the strategies needed to maintain seamless operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Foster a culture prioritizing safety and employee wellbeing.
  • Evaluate and implement corrective measures to maintain high standards of quality and productivity across all shifts.
  • Lead and support your team while managing administrative tasks and nurturing a strong team culture.
  • Assess performance metrics and propose process enhancements to optimize workflows and elevate customer service.
  • Collaborate with fellow managers to standardize operational processes across shifts.

A Day in the Role
Your work will involve shift-based operations at one of our facilities, with a primary focus on upholding safety standards and ensuring process efficiency. Daily tasks will include routine team management, operational duties, and addressing individual escalations, alongside broader operational contingency planning.

As a vital member of the operations team, you will collaborate with colleagues from various departments and external partners to meet customer demands and operational targets. This will require analyzing data and performance metrics in conjunction with leaders in your area, as well as discussing the operational implications of technical improvements with engineering teams.

About the Team
The Amazon Transportation Service (ATS) team is essential to our operational success. Within ATS, you will be part of a diverse group that plays a crucial role in ensuring efficient transport operations. Utilizing various modes of transport and state-of-the-art sortation centers, you will contribute to maximizing operational efficiency. Our team leverages data to inform decision-making, driving innovation and efficiency throughout Amazon.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree (or currently pursuing a bachelor's degree).
  • Advanced proficiency in both written and verbal English, as well as the local language.
  • Relevant experience in data analysis.

Preferred Qualifications
While not mandatory, the following qualifications are advantageous:

  • Experience in communicating effectively with a range of stakeholders, including peers and leadership.
  • Background in a logistics or operational environment.
  • Proficiency in the MS Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) in a professional context.
