Job Summary:
UPL, a leading global provider of sustainable agriculture products and solutions, is seeking a highly skilled Senior Financial Accountant to join our finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing various financial and accounting processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and German Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (HGB).
- Oversee the invoicing process, ensuring it adheres to internal guidelines and drive the dunning process.
- Supervise Accounts Payable function managed by a shared service centre, monitor payment transactions, and cash planning.
- Manage travel expense accounting in the DACH region.
- Lead interaction with external and internal auditors, tax advisors, and coordinate with internal stakeholders to drive a timely completion of audits, tax filings, and other financial processes.
- Manage monthly and annual Value-Added Tax (VAT) returns.
- Monitor payroll accounts and fixed asset accounts to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Respond to ad-hoc requests from management and external stakeholders.
Requirements:
- Qualified Accountant with approximately 5 years of experience in Accounting, Auditing, or Finance functions with solid knowledge of Financial Reporting and Accounting processes.
- Extensive knowledge of SAP or other Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.
- Knowledge of preparation of financial statements according to HGB and IFRS.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
- Motivated, flexible, result-oriented, and comfortable with periods of high work pressure.
- Fluent command of both German and English, both written and spoken.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Desired: Experience in working in a multinational corporation with exposure to Sarbanes-Oxley control requirements for internal processes.
