About the Role

As a Colocation Regional Engineer, you will be pivotal in driving Mechanical and Electrical Engineering services for the construction and implementation of enterprise data centers that adhere to high-quality and performance standards globally.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with colocation vendors to assess and refine designs for new data centers in your designated region, ensuring compliance with AWS standards.
  • Serve as the resident engineer during the construction of new colocation projects, providing support throughout the construction, commissioning, and handover phases.
  • Conduct troubleshooting and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for site and equipment failures, documenting Corrective Actions (CA) as necessary.
  • Provide direct support for operational challenges through training and comprehensive reviews of complex operating procedures.
  • Offer technical guidance for existing data center upgrades, focusing on solutions that enhance capacity, availability, and efficiency.
  • Engage with operational partners to lead and approve designs for upgrades in existing colocation data centers.
  • Interface with various teams, including design engineering, server hardware, and environmental health and safety, to uphold service standards.
  • Manage multiple concurrent projects across different geographical regions.
  • Initiate and conduct engineering site audits within leased or colocation data centers, producing detailed reports on risks and recommended mitigations.
  • Lead in-depth root cause analyses for equipment failures, developing and executing solutions for complex projects.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in the field.
  • A cumulative total of 7 years of experience in industrial or commercial engineering.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5 years of experience specifically related to data center design, with a deep understanding of critical equipment.
  • Familiarity with mechanical and electrical systems relevant to data centers.
  • Knowledge of local building codes and regulations.
  • Experience in the design, construction, operation, or maintenance of mission-critical facilities, particularly data centers.
  • Experience as a resident engineer or hands-on design consultant.
