About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Advocacy Coordinator to join our team at the International Rescue Committee (IRC). The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the development and implementation of our advocacy strategy, focusing on international development finance and fragile contexts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement advocacy strategies to reform international development finance and multilateral development banks, with a focus on the World Bank Group.
  • Monitor and analyze relevant political developments, identify strategic opportunities, and develop policy briefs for the German government.
  • Collaborate with IRC country offices and policy experts to develop policy briefs and advocacy materials.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including government officials, parliamentarians, and civil society organizations.
  • Represent IRC at international forums and events, and engage in advocacy activities to promote IRC's policy agenda.
  • Develop and implement advocacy campaigns to influence German development policy and practice.
  • Contribute to the development of IRC's global advocacy strategy and policy briefs.
Requirements
  • Masters degree in international relations, development studies, or a related field.
  • At least 2 years of experience in advocacy, policy analysis, or a related field.
  • Excellent knowledge of international development finance, human rights, and humanitarian law.
  • Strong analytical and writing skills, with the ability to communicate complex policy issues to diverse audiences.
  • Excellent networking and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Fluency in English and German, with excellent writing and speaking skills.
