Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Trading IT Project Manager to join our ETRM Team in Düsseldorf. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing projects related to trading IT, ensuring timely and on-budget delivery. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Actively initiating, planning, and executing projects using different methodologies to ensure on-time and on-budget delivery.
  • Managing plan, quality, scope, and costs of delivery projects, providing full transparency throughout the lifecycle of the project.
  • Steering external project and service delivery vendor teams to maximize their contribution to projects.
  • Preparing and tracking task plans for diverse teams of internal and external business analysts, system analysts, developers, and testers.
  • Working together with business stakeholders and identifying appropriate solutions by applying PM methodologies to ensure timely and full delivery of customer requirements.
  • Closely aligning and collaborating with IT Architecture and Service Management functions.
  • Collaborating closely with delivery programs/projects that require ETRM delivery, keeping track of and actively managing dependencies.
  • Identifying, assessing, resolving, and accurately reporting on project and delivery risks, assumptions, issues, and dependencies in an appropriate and timely manner.
  • Actively managing communications, reporting, and overall project relationship to project, program, and delivery stakeholders.
  • Engaging actively in Uniper's project management community to promote project management and IT delivery best practices, ensuring effective and efficient delivery of projects.
  • Ensuring realization of project and business benefits.
  • Driving and fostering delivery excellence and continuous improvement activities across project delivery.
  • Building and maintaining excellent working relationships throughout the IT organization and with business users and other stakeholders at different levels.
  • Ensuring overall consistency of solutions and smooth transition into operations.
  • Actively promoting knowledge sharing and building up of internal IT expertise and skills.
Your Profile

We are looking for a candidate with:

  • An energy or commodity trading background.
  • An academic degree or equivalent professional qualification with at least 5 years of professional experience in project management.
  • Strong analytical and structured thinking, high organizational skills, and IT affinity.
  • Hands-on experience in a project management role, with direct involvement in medium/large-size IT implementation projects.
  • Experience in trade lifecycle (trading systems like Endur) is a plus.
  • The ability to work both independently and within a team, in combination with the willingness to accept responsibility.
  • The ability to steer and facilitate complex business meetings and workshops.
  • The ability to present complex dependent topics in a clear and structured manner.
  • Project management certification is a plus.
  • A team player, able to work with different types of personalities and disciplines, to contribute to the overall team's success, to motivate others to take on initiatives, and ensure that actions deliver results.
  • The ability to build good working relationships with stakeholders, colleagues, and suppliers.
  • Emotional resilience, assertiveness, and the ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure.
