Job Summary:

Renesas Electronics is seeking a highly skilled Senior Hardware Design Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for designing and developing complex hardware solutions for our test equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Planning and Scheduling: Collaborate with external suppliers and internal stakeholders to plan and schedule projects, ensuring timely delivery and quality standards.
  • Hardware Quotations and Comparison: Request and compare quotations from suppliers, evaluating the best options for our test equipment.
  • Project Status Tracking: Monitor project status, identifying and escalating any deviations from the schedule to ensure timely completion.
  • Technical Support and Consultation: Provide technical expertise and consultation to project teams, ensuring the successful implementation of hardware solutions.
  • Hardware Design and Development: Design and develop hardware solutions in accordance with project plans and test requirements, ensuring compliance with quality standards.
  • Troubleshooting and Quality Assurance: Identify, evaluate, and resolve technical issues related to ATE hardware solutions, escalating issues as necessary.
  • Supplier Management: Address quality issues with suppliers, requesting and verifying Corrective Action Requests (CARs), and generating and tracking supplier Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Documentation and Continuous Improvement: Ensure project documentation is available and up-to-date, driving continuous improvements with established suppliers and evaluating alternative suppliers.

Requirements:

  • Education: Engineering degree in Electronics or equivalent education.
  • Experience: A minimum of 5 years of experience in designing complex multi-layer PCBs and project management.
  • Skills: Familiarity with state-of-the-art PCB design, manufacturing processes, and assembly technology, as well as experience working with international and cross-functional teams.
  • Personal Qualities: Efficient team player, self-motivated, with good communication skills (verbal and written English), and organizational skills with experience in outsourcing development.
  • Desirable Skills: Experience with PCB Design Suite Cadence Allegro and programming skills in Python or TCL/TK script.
