About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Tech Lead to join our Backend Services team at JustDice GmbH. As a Tech Lead, you will play a crucial role in bridging the gap between our Product Lead's plans and the development process.

Key Responsibilities
  • Technical Mentorship: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to our DevOps and Backend Development team, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in their roles.
  • Code Quality: Ensure that the code produced by the team meets the highest standards of quality, security, and maintainability.
  • Design and Architecture: Collaborate with the team to design and architect software and infrastructure that meets all requirements of quality, security, and scalability.
  • Hands-on Development: Spend a significant amount of time developing features and setting up infrastructure, ensuring that the team has the necessary support and resources.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other stakeholders, including Product Leads and Principal Engineers, to ensure that the technical design aligns with product requirements.
  • Innovation: Foster a culture of innovation within the team, exploring new tools and technologies that can improve the development process and promote best practices.
  • Technical Strategy: Develop and implement a technical strategy that aligns with the company's vision and planned development roadmaps, ensuring that the technical infrastructure and support development efficiently.
Requirements
  • Education: Completed apprenticeship in computer sciences or university degree in computer sciences, (electrical) engineering, mathematics, or sciences.
  • Experience: Strong background in Infrastructure and Software Engineering with over 8 years of experience developing and delivering high-quality software products across multiple technologies.
  • Domain Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of highly scalable microservice backend development in Go, as well as outstanding skills in building modern cloud infrastructure like AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud.
  • Database Skills: Excellent knowledge of different databases and approaches, including SQL, Document-based DBs, Distributed Databases, Big Data Analytics Databases, etc.
  • Project Management: Strong project management skills, including aligning people to reach goals, planning, monitoring progress, and managing dependencies.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent team player with strong problem-solving skills, able to motivate developers and provide clear and actionable feedback.
  • Mindset: Goal-driven, following the 80-20 approach, interested in business results, and understanding that technology enables business growth.
