About the Team
The Global Bank division is responsible for the Banking features within the SumUp merchant SuperApp. This encompasses the establishment and management of business accounts, facilitating seamless transactions, and providing straightforward business expenditure options through the SumUp debit card, among other functionalities.
Our team is genuinely international, comprising over 32 nationalities and diverse cross-functional groups located in various cities.
About the Role
As a Senior Mobile Engineer (iOS) within the Global Bank division, you will be an integral part of a small, highly skilled cross-functional team. You will collaborate closely with Product Managers, fellow Mobile Engineers, Product Designers, and others. Additionally, you will engage with the broader Mobile chapter on a global scale.
Success in this position requires adherence to sound software engineering principles, the ability to write clean code and tests, and a commitment to continuous learning and skill enhancement. You should prioritize user needs in the products you develop and be prepared to contribute to the decision-making process.
We seek a mobile engineer with a product-oriented mindset who can take full ownership of the features you develop while remaining adaptable to shifting priorities.
This role is based on-site, as we value the organic interactions that occur when working closely together.
Responsibilities
- Develop our banking mobile application to support banking operations for our extensive and growing merchant user base globally.
- Engage with large-scale, highly available, and resilient modern systems.
- Participate in architectural discussions, propose solutions, and help shape the technical roadmap for our iOS application.
- Dive into the codebase to create clean components, enhance features, and refine our testing practices to maintain optimal performance.
- Collaborate closely with product and design teams to develop features that are maintainable, user-friendly, and visually appealing.
- Gain a deep understanding of our complex problem domain and its implications for both the interface and backend, managing it in a clean manner.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Proven experience in developing mobile applications of similar complexity to SumUp's Super App.
- Proficient in Swift programming.
- Familiarity with architectural design patterns such as MVVM and MVP, with experience in ensuring modular and scalable app architecture.
- A strong focus on user interaction, usability, and creating aesthetically pleasing interfaces.
- Experience with CocoaPods for dependency management in iOS applications.
- A commitment to writing clean code and developing flexible tests that maintain stability.
