We are a specialist publisher serving stakeholders within the European Union, based in Berlin. Our mission is to provide high-quality legal journals, books, conferences, and professional training in areas such as European data protection law, State aid, and Artificial Intelligence law.
Job OpportunityWe are seeking an Executive Editor to join our editorial team, preferably from 1 November 2024. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing our portfolio of publications in European competition law, State aid, and public procurement law.
Key Responsibilities- Manage legal journals, including desk reviews, editing, formatting, and typesetting of manuscripts, as well as liaising with authors, reviewers, and the editorial team.
- Stay up-to-date with developments in relevant legal and policy areas and proactively curate the journals to reflect interesting developments.
- Develop and implement outreach and business development initiatives to increase the visibility of the journals in conjunction with our marketing team.
- Collaborate with conference managers to plan and develop seminars and conferences.
- Strong interest in European law and policy.
- Bachelor's degree or higher in EU law/affairs, international economic law/affairs, or related fields.
- At least 1 year of prior professional experience.
- Excellent planning, management, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to interact with high-level professionals and experts.
- Meticulous attention to detail and strategic thinking.
- Background in the specific journal topics is an advantage, but not a requirement.
- Previous experience in the publishing sector is highly valued.
- Excellent written and spoken English (native speaker or equivalent). Some German language skills would be helpful for everyday exchange with colleagues, but are not a must.
