Your responsibilities will encompass the following:
Leadership Responsibilities
Overseeing the global cost management team, including leadership and personnel development Acting as a consultant to executive management and related departments Enhancing the vision and strategic direction for cost management Integrating cost management practices into the broader organizational frameworkGuidance & Oversight
Implementing cost engineering methodologies on a global scale Ensuring accountability for all financial objectives in customer project proposals Developing and mentoring specialists in cost management, fostering team growth and adapting roles to meet business demands Collaborating with project-related functions to establish standards and processesCost Management Focus
Leading initiatives for cost reduction throughout all project phases Conducting financial assessments of technical proposals and alternatives Evaluating costs, setting targets, and benchmarking for products and processes during the quotation phase Guiding the global cost review process for selected products in production Assessing financial implications of standardization initiatives Implementing cost improvement strategies for key components and monitoring their execution Evaluating and directing make-or-buy decisions from both operational and strategic perspectives Engaging with suppliers to stay informed on technical advancements and enhance cost management expertiseSupport Functions
Assisting procurement in supplier negotiations, both technically and commercially, including cost analysis Supporting project and sales teams in customer discussions, providing technical and commercial insights (concepts, cost breakdowns, change management) as a counterpart to client cost teams Aiding in the evaluation of business casesRequired Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's degree in economics or industrial engineering (preferred) with a focus on controlling or a related field Extensive experience in cost management/cost engineering and project oversight within a multinational technology-oriented organization, ideally in the automotive sector Proven track record in project execution and collaboration with cross-functional teams Familiarity with product costing, cost engineering, project oversight, procurement, product management, and business development is advantageous Strong business insight and comprehensive understanding of both commercial and technical aspects of business Successful completion of multiple projects involving financial process and tool implementation Significant experience in leading teams and managing international collaborations Solid technical knowledge Proficiency in controlling and financial systems (e.g., SAP (ERP), cost engineering, MS Office, accounting, data analytics) Fluent in both German and English, with strong written and verbal communication skills High intercultural and social competence, experienced in leading international, interdisciplinary, and virtual teams Strong management and communication abilities Analytical mindset, strategic thinking, commercial acumen, and problem-solving capabilitiesWe welcome applications from individuals with disabilities.
