Position Overview:

Mercedes-Benz Group AG stands as a leader in the automotive industry, renowned for its premium and luxury vehicles. The Body-in-White Clamping and Fixturing Concept team plays a pivotal role in the planning of vehicle assembly, focusing on the development of joining sequences and fixture concepts that transition from individual components to complete vehicle bodies.

Your Role:

As an intern, you will assist the Production Planning Body-in-White team in enhancing our cutting-edge joining sequence tool, which leverages machine learning to streamline planning processes. This position offers a unique opportunity to explore the intersection of advanced technology and high-quality vehicle manufacturing, contributing to the enhancement of efficiency, quality, and intelligence in our planning methodologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the design and execution of innovative planning strategies that incorporate machine learning to refine the creation of joining sequences.
  • Assist in the evaluation and design of alternative solutions aimed at improving the joining sequence tool.
  • Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team focused on clamping and fixing concepts alongside IT specialists.

Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a degree in mechanical engineering, engineering sciences, computer science, or a related field.
  • Basic knowledge of machine learning and data analysis is advantageous.
  • Fundamental understanding of production planning, software development, and programming, particularly in Python.
  • Proficient in both written and spoken German and English.
  • Genuine interest in body-in-white planning processes.
  • Strong analytical skills and a structured approach to work.
  • Ability to work collaboratively, demonstrating effective communication and initiative.
