As a Corporate Commodity Engineer (f/m/d) specializing in Standard Semiconductors, you will:
- Act as a Technical Authority: Serve as the technical expert and mentor for a broad spectrum of Standard Semiconductors (including analog, discrete, opto, logic components, and Timing Devices) within the SCM Pooled Direct organization.
- Drive Commodity Strategy: Collaborate closely with commercial partners, including PuC Managers for Commodity Components and Integrated Circuits, to develop and execute the commodity strategy for your designated material area, focusing on Cost and Value Engineering, Supplier Portfolio Management, Innovation Management, Supplier Quality Management, and Sustainability.
- Manage Portfolio: Implement and promote a standardization approach related to raw materials, components, technology, and base specifications, facilitating the structured selection of advantageous components from a streamlined supply base.
- Promote Sustainability: Collaborate with the supplier network and internal cross-functional teams to actively support Siemens' sustainability objectives.
- Oversee Innovation Management: Identify and evaluate innovative ideas, proposals, solutions, and products from suppliers, assessing their impact and applicability for Siemens. Selected innovations that meet the demands of your cross-functional partners will be developed and implemented.
- Implement Cost & Value Engineering: Support the organization by managing and executing Cost and Value Engineering projects in collaboration with cross-functional teams, deriving efficiency measures from cost and price transparency.
- Facilitate Supplier Portfolio Management: Influence the selection of preferred suppliers and components during the early design phase, providing technical expertise and cost insights. You will also oversee the selection, introduction, development, and phase-out of suppliers, coordinating pre-assessment and audit activities within your cross-functional team.
- Enhance Supplier Quality Management: Collaborate with your cross-business team to implement and execute a proactive Supplier Quality strategy that ensures compliance with evolving requirements, enhances supplier performance, and mitigates supply chain risks.
- Lead and Build Networks: Coordinate global technology and quality networks, ensuring timely information exchange.
- Completed university education in electrical engineering, industrial engineering and management, or a related field.
- Extensive professional experience in Supply Chain Management, product development, R&D, and/or engineering roles.
- Strategic and innovative mindset, strong decision-making skills, customer-oriented approach, and results-driven focus, with an emphasis on building networks and partnerships.
- Proven ability to creatively solve problems, critically analyze complex situations, identify opportunities, and make data-driven decisions.
- Proficient in negotiation, presentation, and facilitation techniques.
- Expertise in the manufacturing and application of relevant products.
- Strong project management, cost analysis, optimization skills, and experience managing cross-functional and multicultural teams.
- International experience and adaptability to diverse cultures, with a background in leading global teams being advantageous.
- Familiarity with preventive quality methods, quality management systems, and audit experience for electronic components and production processes.
- Ideally, knowledge of relevant procurement processes.
- Fluency in both German and English, written and spoken, is essential.
