Position Overview:
As a Cost Engineer, you will play a crucial role in evaluating production expenses during the initial stages of product development. Your focus will be on enhancing product design and manufacturing strategies through collaborative efforts across various disciplines. Leveraging your technical knowledge, you will connect financial insights with technological advancements. Utilizing approaches such as target costing, benchmarking, and comprehensive lifetime assessments, you will analyze project profitability throughout the entire product development lifecycle, ensuring we deliver competitive solutions to our customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess production options for automotive products in the EMEA region, considering design, methodology, and manufacturing sites.
- Provide cost estimates for projects at all stages of development, including concept, design, and industrialization.
- Conduct financial analyses for projects, focusing on ROI, payback periods, operating income, and break-even analysis.
- Assist in calculating lifecycle costs across all project phases and work to optimize cost cycles in partnership with key stakeholders.
- Introduce innovative methodologies for product families and drive continuous cost improvement initiatives.
- Engage actively in interdisciplinary teams to enhance project outcomes.
- Collaborate closely with project controlling and management teams.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Industrial Engineering or Business Administration.
- Relevant experience in finance and production within the automotive sector.
- Strong understanding of the financial implications of process modifications.
- Familiarity with thermoplastic injection molding, stamping, and assembly processes is advantageous.
- Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to engage effectively with senior management.
- Excellent analytical capabilities and a strong commitment to cost reduction.
- Proficient communication and presentation skills in English.
- Competence in Microsoft Office and familiarity with SAP and FACTON.
- A collaborative mindset with a keen interest in cost analysis.
