We are seeking a seasoned Senior Product Manager to become a pivotal member of our team, steering the evolution and oversight of our consumer discovery solutions.
At the heart of our marketplace lies the Discovery division. This team is currently focused on creating Search, Recommendation, and intent collection systems that empower our brands, serving millions of requests daily. The systems we design are essential for our online marketplaces, characterized by high availability and performance standards, delivering significant commercial value. They necessitate the crafting of control loops through data, machine learning, and online serving systems to cater to millions of consumers globally.
Your objective is to perpetually enhance how we assist consumers in effortlessly and enjoyably finding and discovering their desired products. The ideal candidate will blend practicality with innovation and visionary leadership. You will be required to deliver business value promptly while strategically investing in capabilities that promise long-term, potentially substantial returns. An empathetic listener, you should be adept at recognizing and envisioning opportunities with a diverse array of partners.
- Formulate the product strategy, roadmap, and market entry plan for Discovery Solutions
- Establish suitable metrics to evaluate our effectiveness in achieving each goal and set explicit targets for continuous improvement
- Create and utilize well-considered decision frameworks to align partner teams and leadership on marketplace expansion. Effectively persuade your peers and leadership for optimal outcomes
- Serve as the primary resource for inquiries, clarifications, and guidance on Discovery solutions
- Cultivate robust feedback mechanisms with peers managing our portfolio of brands and partner-facing teams
- Address dependencies crucial to success and collaborate with peers in Data Science, Analytics, and other Platform teams to establish effective operational models. Partner with Engineering to navigate sensible trade-offs between product and architectural investments
- Articulate strategy, plans, trade-offs, and progress through a consistent rhythm of written and verbal communication to the Consumer Leadership team
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of product management experience in an eCommerce or Marketplace environment, with experience orchestrating value delivery in an enterprise context where various teams manage different systems being a significant advantage
- Experience collaborating with a globally distributed team and managing communications and product delivery across multiple time zones
- Strong familiarity with Marketplace principles; demonstrated ability to apply these to enhance business outcomes
- Previous machine learning experience, with knowledge of statistical data analytics techniques; experience with comprehensive ML product delivery
- Proven track record of translating business strategy into a detailed product roadmap, resulting in measurable, long-term positive impacts on business performance
- Experience with feature delivery and the trade-offs involved in product development
- Background in contributing to engineering discussions surrounding technology decisions and strategies related to a product
- Analytical and data-driven; proficient in defining appropriate metrics, collaborating effectively with engineers and data scientists, and keeping teams motivated and accountable to achieve targets.
