SCG Engineer - HVDC Control Technology Specialist

We are seeking a skilled and experienced SCG Engineer to play a key role in the development and maintenance of SCADA Communication Gateway components in the field of HVDC control technology.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Project engineer in the area of HVDC control technology for the SCADA communication gateway components, ensuring seamless signal switching between automation devices and integrating communication technology with ancillary systems and control centers.
  • Creation and maintenance of specifications and manuals, as well as clarification of signal lists with internal interfaces and external customers & suppliers.
  • Development and maintenance of the central control technology - signal database (signal switching) and configuration of the central data gateways (IPCOMM ipConv) and other protocol converters.
  • System integration and commissioning of various components in the test setup in Erlangen, ensuring error-free communication between components and signal tests.
  • Execution and support of acceptance tests with suppliers and customers, as well as technical support during construction.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or automation technology.
  • Up to three years of professional experience in the field of control technology for energy transmission systems.
  • Experience in project management, customer clarifications, and working in complex teams.
  • Understanding of SCADA systems in energy transmission (switchgear, etc.).
  • Technical English and experience in Remote Control Interface, Protocol Converter, Data Concentrator.
  • Configuration IPCOMM ipConf Gateway & Protocol Converter, control technology integration of auxiliary systems, process/signal data processing, signal switching, and function and application database systems for signal switching.
  • Control technology protocols (IEC101, IEC104, IEC61850, OPC, DNP,...) and the corresponding communication structures.
