About Prax

Prax is a leading company in the energy sector, and we are currently expanding our operations to include a new associated wholesale business for the purchase and sale of crude oil and refined products.

This is a key role for Prax's growth and contributes to its horizontal integration and geographical expansion.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Obtaining customs clearance on behalf of and advising on customs procedures and international trade.
  • Negotiating with customs authorities in Danzig and Rostock.
  • Coordinating with the outsourced tax/ customs service provider regarding the transfer of responsibilities, compliance with regulations, and licensing agreements.
  • Submitting customs declarations on behalf of Harvest Energy Retail and our financing company.
  • Maintaining connections with the finance, trade, and operations teams to ensure timely submissions and payments.
  • Building relationships with customers and learning about their supply chains.
  • Developing and submitting customs simplifications on behalf of traders, including active and passive processing, customs warehouses, authorized representatives, customs deferral, VAT deferral, and excise duty deferral.
  • Responding to customs inquiries, including coding, trade preferences, duties, valuation, and customs transit.
  • Ensuring that knowledge of compliance with laws and practices is maintained in line with current regulations through continuous professional development.
  • Preparing and maintaining documents for accounting, budgeting, and contract purposes.

Requirements, Experience, and Qualifications:

REQUIRED

Experience in filling out customs declarations.

Experience in the oil industry, including imports and exports (practical experience).

Fluent command of business German.

Good communication and leadership skills.

PREFERRED

Fluent command of English.

Ability to meet challenging deadlines, often with competing priorities.

Flexible and adaptable approach.
