As a **MLOps Specialist** at **understandAI GmbH**, you will empower machine learning professionals to develop, deploy, and manage models effectively while ensuring efficient data handling. Working within a dedicated team responsible for the entire product lifecycle, you will collaborate closely with our DevOps specialists across various teams.

This position merges system and software engineering, emphasizing the importance of coding and automation. You will have the opportunity to lead the implementation of specific solutions and share your expertise with team members. Your work will embody the principles of DevOps, focusing on measuring and achieving reliability through engineering and operational tasks.

• Design and sustain the next generation of our machine learning infrastructure, which includes:
  • Model development
  • Data management
  • Model operation, management, and monitoring
  • Cost transparency
• Provide user-friendly tools to support ML engineers
• Collaborate with ML engineers to drive implementation
• Work closely with our DevOps specialists
• Foster an MLOps mindset within the team
• Continuously assess cutting-edge MLOps solutions relevant to our needs
• Identify automation opportunities to enhance efficiency, reliability, and scalability

• Proven experience with MLOps tools
• Strong familiarity with at least one cloud platform – our focus is on Google Cloud
• Experience with Kubernetes
• Basic understanding of machine learning concepts
• Solid proficiency in a high-level programming language, such as Python, JavaScript, or Java
• Experience in large-scale system design, with a deep understanding of UNIX/Linux, networking, and security practices
• Ability to lead initiatives and inspire team members
• Enjoyment in teamwork and effective communication with colleagues
• Educational background in Computer Science (or related field) or a proven track record as an MLOps expert
• Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal
