Position Overview
The OGC Senior Analyst – Compliance plays a vital role within Latham's Office of the General Counsel ("OGC") team. This position is essential for supporting the firm's regulatory compliance and risk management initiatives, particularly in relation to the Anti-Money Laundering ("AML") and Sanctions programs. This role offers an opportunity to engage with a dynamic team committed to upholding the highest standards of compliance and risk management, contributing to both local and global compliance efforts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Overseeing the Client Due Diligence ("CDD") and Know Your Client ("KYC") documentation processes for the German offices, including conducting corporate research and collaborating with legal and support teams to ensure timely documentation collection.
  • Evaluating complex issues and addressing inquiries from Compliance Team members, management, legal professionals, and support staff across various offices.
  • Assessing German and international regulatory compliance frameworks, processes, and developments, and recommending enhancements to policies and procedures.
  • Providing direct support to Compliance Team attorneys and managers, including preparing local office Risk Assessments and Annual Reports, assisting AML Officers, drafting blocking reports, and responding to regulatory inquiries.
  • Designing and delivering training for new Compliance Team members, while participating in projects that align with the firm's compliance objectives and Compliance Team Strategic Plan.

Qualifications
  • Proven ability to cultivate strong professional relationships within a global organization and effectively engage with legal professionals, management, and support staff.
  • Advanced analytical skills to identify and resolve problems, developing alternative strategies as needed.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, in German and English.

Education and Experience
  • A Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
  • Relevant experience in AML and/or sanctions compliance within a compliance, risk, or operational role in a law firm, banking institution, audit firm, or similar professional services environment.
