Job Summary:
The Procurement Manager will be responsible for leading the procurement function at the Essen site, ensuring that all supply chain activities are executed effectively to support site sales and customer delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the procurement process to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of goods and services.
- Lead a team of procurement specialists to handle procure-to-pay activities, including sourcing, contracting, and vendor management.
- Collaborate with the Sourcing team to ensure that all deliveries are made on time, of the right quality, and at competitive prices.
- Develop and implement strategies to reduce costs and improve supply chain efficiency.
- Manage the local ERP system to ensure accurate and up-to-date data and parameters.
- Support the development of the annual budget and strategic plans, focusing on total expenditure and savings.
- Identify opportunities to increase contractually covered expenditure and rationalize the supply base.
- Develop and implement plans to mitigate supply and supplier risks.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant legal requirements for the procurement process and supply chains.
- Implement the Flowserve management system, including Daily Management, in consultation with the Managers.
- Promote process optimization to improve efficiency.
- Ensure timely availability of materials in close cooperation with the Production Planning Team and support inventory reduction initiatives.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree with a strong technical focus and/or comparable technical/commercial degree with good business knowledge.
- 5 years of professional experience in international purchasing in a manufacturing company.
- Initial management experience, preferably in purchasing.
- High level of technical competence (drawings, manufacturing technologies, standards and regulations, etc.).
- Organizational talent with strong project management know-how.
- Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively at all organizational levels, with fluent written and oral communication skills in English and German.
- Very good knowledge of MS Office software modules and ERP system - SAP R3 preferred.
- Willingness to travel internationally occasionally.
