Your Work Area:
As a prominent player in the financial services sector, we are integral to the global trading landscape. Our server architecture is essential for the ongoing operation of our Derivatives and Cash markets. In the role of a Linux Systems Engineer, you will be crucial in overseeing and managing our Linux server environments, spanning the entire process from development through to production.

Key Responsibilities:

  • System Oversight: Perform upgrades, apply patches, fine-tune, and enhance Red Hat Enterprise Linux servers.
  • High Availability Systems: Ensure the dependability of our high availability systems.
  • Advanced Technical Support: Deliver third-level support to advanced users, swiftly addressing complex challenges.
  • Server Configuration and Refresh: Strategize and implement setup, hardware, and software refreshes for vital IT server solutions.
  • Shift Work and On-Call Duties: Be prepared to work shifts and engage in on-call duty rotations (compensation provided).

Your Profile:

  • Degree in Information Technology or a related field.
  • Extensive experience in system administration, ideally within a sensitive environment.
  • Strong expertise in Red Hat Enterprise Linux installation, monitoring, maintenance, optimization, and troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with Git for version control.
  • Proficient in scripting languages (Python, shell scripting).
  • Understanding of clustering concepts, particularly Pacemaker.
  • Knowledge of virtualization/container technologies (e.g., RHV, VMWare).
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate in an international team setting.
  • Proficiency in both German and English.

Additional Skills (Preferred):

  • Infrastructure-as-Code: Experience with Ansible and/or Puppet.
  • RedHat Satellite 6: Familiarity with RedHat Satellite for effective system management.
  • Monitoring Solutions: Experience with monitoring tools such as Checkmk.
