Position: Senior Associate in Audit at Mazars GmbH & Co. KG

Mazars GmbH & Co. KG is a prominent firm specializing in audit, tax, and advisory services, operating on a global scale across more than 100 countries. We are currently seeking a Senior Associate in Audit to enhance our team. In this role, you will take charge of leading and inspiring a team of up to five professionals, serving as the main point of contact for clients during on-site engagements.

Your responsibilities will include conducting audits of financial statements for entities within the financial services sector, particularly focusing on banks and credit institutions. You will tackle various accounting and valuation challenges, while also engaging in special projects related to regulatory compliance, as well as periodic and ad-hoc audits on behalf of regulatory authorities. Providing audit-related guidance will be a key aspect of your position, along with mentoring and supporting your colleagues.

Qualifications:

  • Completed degree in economics, ideally with a specialization in auditing, taxation, accounting, or finance
  • Extensive experience in auditing financial statements for banks and/or financial service providers in accordance with HGB, as well as familiarity with IFRS reporting packages
  • Experience in project management and process analysis tools is advantageous
  • Strong motivation, proactive approach, and leadership capabilities
  • Excellent communication skills in both German and English
