Job Title: Trainee Finnish Translator

As a trainee translator, you will be responsible for translating a wide range of texts from English into Finnish, including financial and economic materials. Your role will involve proofreading texts written in Finnish, identifying and extracting terminology, and contributing to other activities of the Finnish team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Translate English texts into Finnish with accuracy and attention to detail
  • Proofread and edit Finnish texts to ensure high-quality output
  • Identify and extract terminology in Finnish for use in translation memories
  • Contribute to other activities of the Finnish team, such as maintaining translation memories and providing linguistic advice
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in modern languages or translation
  • Experience in translating English texts into Finnish, either as part of a degree course or in a professional context
  • Native-speaker standard command of Finnish and advanced command of English
  • Good knowledge of MS Office package, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Desirable Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in modern languages or translation
  • Intermediate command of another official EU language
  • Familiarity with computer-assisted translation tools, such as Trados Studio
  • Broad knowledge of European current affairs, with a particular interest in financial and economic matters
