Position Overview:

As a Senior Solutions Engineer specializing in Data Warehousing, you will play a pivotal role in assisting clients to develop comprehensive big data solutions utilizing the Databricks platform. This role involves direct interaction with customers, collaborating closely with Solution Architects, and requires substantial hands-on experience with Apache Spark and other relevant data technologies.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Deliver technical guidance to facilitate strategic clients in their cloud transformation journeys, focusing on large-scale data warehousing projects from evaluation through to production deployment.
  • Demonstrate the advantages of the Databricks platform by architecting production workloads, including comprehensive pipeline load performance assessments and optimizations.
  • Establish yourself as a technical authority in areas such as data warehousing evaluations and successful workload migrations.
  • Support Solution Architects in advanced technical sales aspects, including custom proof of concept development, workload sizing estimates, and production workload tuning.
  • Provide educational sessions and training to enhance community engagement, including participation in hackathons and industry conferences.
  • Contribute actively to the Databricks Community.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in pre-sales or post-sales roles working with diverse external clients across various industries.
  • Ability to design efficient, scalable, secure, and cost-effective cloud-based data solutions, effectively communicating architectural decisions to senior stakeholders.
  • Proficient in the design and implementation of a wide array of data technologies, including Hadoop, Apache Spark, NoSQL, OLTP, OLAP, and ETL/ELT processes.
  • Hands-on experience with MPP data warehouse systems (e.g., Oracle Exadata, Teradata, IBM Netezza) or cloud data warehouses (e.g., Amazon Redshift, Azure Synapse, Snowflake).
  • Provide expert advice on Data Warehousing architecture, proactively identifying and addressing potential challenges.
  • Familiarity with standard data modeling techniques such as dimensional modeling, Data Vault, and Inmon methodologies.
  • Proficient in SQL or any SQL dialect (e.g., PL/SQL, Transact-SQL).
  • Experience with Business Intelligence tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Qlik.
  • Knowledge of development best practices for data engineers, including CI/CD, unit and integration testing, as well as automation and orchestration.
  • Production programming experience in languages such as Python, Scala, or R.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.
  • This position offers remote work flexibility and may require occasional travel.
