About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Interior Architect or Architect to join our team at the City of Dortmund. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for a wide range of tasks, including:

  • Designing and re-designing kitchens and dining areas in schools and daycare centers, as well as scientific facilities and interior spaces in buildings owned by the City of Dortmund.
  • Concurrently, you will be responsible for planning and designing general building projects in new construction and existing buildings owned by the City of Dortmund. This will include creating CAD-based furniture plans, preparing performance specifications, and controlling timelines and costs.
  • You will also be responsible for leading and managing external interior architects on specific projects.
Key Responsibilities
  • You will require extensive knowledge and at least 2 years of experience in all phases of the HOAI, the Workplace Ordinance, and the Hygiene Ordinance, as well as a good understanding of relevant laws and regulations.
  • In addition to your technical expertise, you will need to possess strong planning and organizational skills, the ability to assert yourself, and excellent teamwork skills.
  • You will also need to be flexible, resilient, and have a strong sense of initiative, as well as a professional and confident demeanor.
  • The entire scope of work will be supported by IT applications, so you will need to be proficient in common office software and have good knowledge of MS-Project, CAD, and AVA programs. You will also need to be willing to quickly acquire knowledge of the specialist software REVIT and RIB Arriba AVA.
