Current internal local national employees of the U.S. Forces in Germany, including U.S. Air Force and AAFES-Europe.
Key ResponsibilitiesThe Culinary Assistant will undertake a variety of food service and preparation tasks, which may include but are not limited to the following:
- Setting up dining areas with necessary items such as glassware, utensils, condiments, and beverages as directed. Responsible for clearing tables and managing soiled dishes.
- Preparing fruits and vegetables through various methods including cutting and peeling, and operating kitchen appliances as needed.
- Maintaining cleanliness of service areas and equipment, including washing tables and cleaning kitchen tools. Ensuring dishes are prepped for the dishwasher and properly stored after cleaning.
- Performing general cleaning duties to uphold hygiene standards in the kitchen and dining areas, including scrubbing floors and sanitizing surfaces.
- May be tasked with conducting headcount duties as outlined in operational procedures, managing funds related to meal sales.
- Additional duties as assigned.
HT:
No formal education required. The candidate should be able to perform tasks with minimal supervision after a brief training period.
- A valid German driver's license (Class B) is preferred.
LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY:
English Level A2 and German Level B1 are required.
- This is a permanent full-time position (39 hours/week).
- Weekend and holiday work, as well as shift work, are necessary.
- Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 20 lbs is required.
