Junior Researcher – Latin America

About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Junior Researcher to join our team at Statista GmbH. As a Junior Researcher, you will play a crucial role in supporting our editorial team in creating high-quality content for our platform.

Key Responsibilities
  • Research and Content Management
    • Conduct desktop research using secondary data sources on the global and Latin American e-commerce market
    • Perform topic-based data research on B2B/B2C/C2C e-commerce, online marketplaces, and retailers, digital shopping behavior, e-commerce trends, and leading players with a particular focus on Latin America and Spain
    • Develop an understanding of valid data sources and potential data partners in the industry
    • Generate research topics for the database development, in close communication with the team lead and fellow editors in the retail team
    • Manage SEO-optimized web content via Statista's own Content Management System (CMS), in accordance with departments' goals, monitoring usage, and keeping the database up to date
  • Editorial Tasks
    • Edit, publish, and contextualize statistical information in English, via the platform, following Statista's editorial style and documentation
    • Create and maintain a host of editorial products, including individual statistics, dossiers (Statista-specific reports), as well as topic, industry, and landing pages
Requirements
  • Successful completion of undergraduate studies
  • Exceptional written and spoken English skills; first editorial experience in English (please send us your CV and cover letter in English)
  • Good Spanish language skills (for research); solid knowledge of Latin American and/or Spanish topics and regions
  • Ability to describe complicated data in a concise and comprehensible manner
  • Structured, organized, and independent working style with attention to quality, detail, and accuracy
  • A strong interest in and knowledge of e-commerce topics and trends
