Job OverviewFugro is on the lookout for a Survey Engineer to become a key member of our Marine Asset Integrity division. This department is dedicated to offshore Positioning, Survey Construction (PCS), and Inspection initiatives worldwide.
As a Survey Engineer, you will play a vital role within the Offshore Survey Team, concentrating on the mobilization and operation of positioning and survey apparatus, as well as the acquisition and quality assurance of data aboard offshore vessels. The position offers a diverse range of responsibilities, including the setup, testing, and operation of cutting-edge survey and positioning technologies, such as Fugro's Vision Technology and Low Logistics Autonomous Underwater Vehicle. Additionally, you will be tasked with collecting, organizing, and presenting findings from various survey instruments.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the mobilization and demobilization of vessels for offshore survey operations;
- Oversee the repair, preventive maintenance, and testing of equipment offshore as necessary;
- Help in the calibration of survey instruments and equipment in accordance with established standards;
- Execute various survey activities as part of the offshore survey team;
- Maintain all logbooks, fault reports, and administrative tasks following company guidelines;
- Promote and support continuous enhancement of company processes, including safety and quality management systems.
- BSc or equivalent in a relevant electronics or IT discipline, or equivalent vocational qualifications;
- Familiarity with commonly utilized survey instruments, such as GNSS, Gyro, MRU, and ideally MBES, USBL, LBL, INS, and Digital Video;
- Solid understanding of real-time positioning principles, data acquisition, and quality control;
- Experience in implementing Preventative Maintenance Systems, troubleshooting, and reporting;
- Proficiency in CAD and online survey software applications;
- Strong communication skills with good command of the English language (both verbal and written), capable of building effective working relationships with clients and colleagues at all levels.
