About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Global Category Lead to join our team at ALTANA Management Services GmbH. As a key member of our procurement team, you will be responsible for driving our global sourcing strategies and leading an innovative cross-divisional category team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, coordinate, and implement global and regional procurement strategies in close cooperation with the category team in the divisions.
  • Conceive and implement a value creation portfolio to ensure cost- and quality-optimized supply to the production sites.
  • Carry out regional and global tenders, taking into account site-specific business requirements with the target of achieving best-cost results.
  • Ongoing evaluation and optimization of the supplier portfolio.
  • Commercial responsibility with regard to strategic suppliers at a global and regional level.
  • Business partnering in the divisions to identify expectations and translate them in procurement decisions.
Requirements
  • Completed master's, diploma, or bachelor's degree in the field of economics, engineering, business chemistry, or similar.
  • Experience in strategic procurement of alternative categories in an industrial environment is a plus.
  • Experience in an international and intercultural cooperation, along with very good English skills (written and spoken).
  • Proven expertise in conception and implementation.
  • Excellent organizational understanding with a strong service and stakeholder orientation.
  • High degree of personal persuasiveness and results orientation coupled with target group-oriented communication skills.
