Job Summary

The Service Technician is a key member of our team at Plug Power, responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our equipment and systems. This role requires a high level of technical expertise, attention to detail, and excellent problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Commissioning: Conduct thorough testing and inspections to ensure equipment meets quality and safety standards.
  • Check and document function, safety, and quality in compliance with industry standards and specifications.
  • Maintenance: Perform repairs, maintenance, diagnostics, troubleshooting, documentation, and evaluation analysis to ensure optimal equipment performance.
  • Repair: Troubleshoot and repair complex systems, including retrofitting software and hardware upgrades for existing fuel cells and other products.
  • Systematically troubleshoot and document root causes of faults and defects.
  • Test, release, and hand over complex systems to ensure they meet quality and safety standards.
  • Provide on-call and emergency support to customers as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Education or advanced training as a specialist with an electrical engineering background: automotive mechatronics technician, equipment technician, electrical engineer, etc.
  • Three (3) or more years of direct mechanical and electrical troubleshooting experience preferred.
  • Computer and software system skills as required for the position, including but not limited to: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to work independently and be creative in solving technical problems.
  • Dynamic interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with various audiences and stakeholders at all levels.
  • Advantageous to possess a valid forklift license and driver's license and be able to safely operate a motor vehicle.
