Your Role and Responsibilities
In the capacity of a Lead Systems Architect, you will take on the technical leadership for ETCS onboard projects on a global scale, ensuring the safety of long-distance rail operations through the deployment of innovative signaling technologies.
- You will independently assess and define the comprehensive system, capturing and clarifying all technical and operational specifications.
- Your responsibilities will include establishing the system architecture, maintaining updates throughout the project lifecycle, and managing interfaces.
- By overseeing the overall system integration and technical project results, you will actively guide them throughout the project duration.
- Furthermore, you will prepare strategic decisions for ongoing development by evaluating the implemented system and providing independent consultation for future projects.
- Leveraging your expertise, you will assist fellow System Managers in proposals and customer initiatives, addressing complex inquiries and promoting knowledge sharing during meetings with clients and suppliers.
- As a senior member of the team, you will also contribute to strategic initiatives and projects.
Your Qualifications
- A university degree in a technical discipline is essential.
- Significant professional experience as a System Manager within the safety-critical railway technology domain or in the development, engineering, or tendering of ETCS Onboard projects is required.
- A robust understanding of complete railway technology systems, along with solid knowledge in requirements management and configuration control, is necessary.
- Experience in integrating national train control systems is advantageous.
- Familiarity with relevant standards, regulations, and guidelines (such as TSI, CENELEC) is crucial.
- Ability to work effectively in international teams and environments.
- Given our global project scope, basic proficiency in German, excellent command of English (additional language skills are a plus), and a willingness to travel (approximately 20%) are expected.
