Overview of the Role
At Eurex Clearing, a prominent central counterparty in the global financial landscape, we prioritize the safety and integrity of market operations while fostering innovation in risk management and client asset safeguarding. Our organization is dedicated to clearing a diverse range of products under a unified framework in Europe, encompassing both listed and over-the-counter (OTC) transactions, while accepting a wide array of eligible collateral. Acting as the intermediary between buyers and sellers, we mitigate counterparty risk and enhance operational efficiency.
As an Equity Risk Management Officer, you will engage with risk management systems and contribute to critical processes within the Clearinghouse. Your role will involve real-time monitoring and management of member risk situations for markets cleared by Eurex Clearing, serving as the primary contact for client inquiries regarding risk management.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and oversee the risk management systems for listed products at Eurex Clearing.
- Manage the daily risk positions of Eurex Clearing across all cleared markets.
- Act as the first point of contact for client requests, providing essential support to members.
- Engage in the design, development, and testing of risk management systems and methodologies.
- Assist in the development and execution of strategic risk initiatives within Deutsche Börse Group.
- Communicate risk-related matters to senior management, IT departments, and regulatory authorities.
Candidate Profile
- Degree in economics, finance, mathematics, physics, financial engineering, computer science, or a related field.
- Familiarity with financial markets and products (including bonds, equities, futures, and options), as well as the clearing operations of Eurex Clearing AG.
- A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience, ideally within a risk management role at a financial institution.
- Strong presentation and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across diverse teams.
- A proactive team player with a strong focus on results and organizational independence.
- Proficiency in database management and SQL is advantageous.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including availability during public holidays.
- Proficient in written and spoken English; knowledge of German is a plus.
