About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our SAP Design System Team as a Design System Specialist. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in evolving the SAP design system, design language, and best practices to increase overall design quality and development velocity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the development and maintenance of the SAP Web Design System, ensuring consistency and alignment with company standards.
  • Collaborate closely with application design teams and stakeholders to understand their needs and requirements, and provide design specifications for components based on specific requirements.
  • Present designs, gather feedback, and incorporate changes accordingly, ensuring that designs meet product standards and accessibility guidelines.
  • Participate in usability testing, developing prototypes, and providing guideline articles explaining the use of different components and patterns.
  • Ensure that designs meet product standards, including accessibility standards, and collaborate closely with our Web Design System team both onsite and remotely.

Requirements

  • Ability to consistently contribute 10-20 hours per week to our team both onsite and remotely.
  • Reliable and stable internet connection for remote work.
  • Fluent in English and German, with a comprehensive understanding of Figma and experience in creating design for components and patterns.
  • Demonstrate a grasp of design system concepts, and understand how to create and implement a scalable and reusable design system.
  • Capable of designing user-focused elements that propel an intuitive experience, with a basic knowledge of code (CSS, HTML, and JavaScript a plus).

About the Team

The SAP Design System Team is focused on evolving the SAP design system, design language, and best practices to increase overall design quality and development velocity. We establish the DNA that makes SAP Products unique, building the Design Systems that bring the language to life, and creating standards and guidance to ensure consistency.
