Lead Innovation Strategist in Microsurgery

As a pivotal member of our team, you will play a crucial role in defining new markets and applications within the realm of microsurgery and medical technology. Embrace challenges, excel in your field, and push the boundaries of innovation. At ZEISS Corporate Research & Technology, we are dedicated to exploring new applications, markets, and technologies that extend beyond our current business units. In your capacity as the Senior Innovation Manager for Health, you will monitor technological advancements and foster relationships with internal stakeholders and the academic community.
Your Responsibilities
- Drive advancements in microsurgery (including neuro/spine, ENT, and dental surgery) by identifying and assessing opportunities that align with desirability, feasibility, and viability.
- Utilize your comprehensive understanding of surgical workflows and associated technologies to pinpoint unmet needs through close collaboration with surgeons.
- Advocate for new project proposals within the organization.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and technology experts, as well as external partners, to uncover new business opportunities.
- Contribute to ZEISS's success by leveraging your extensive application knowledge and understanding of customer needs, including initiating and guiding development projects.
- Expand and maintain a network of surgical partners within the microsurgical disciplines.
Your Profile
- In-depth knowledge of surgical workflows and related technologies in microsurgery (neuro/spine, ENT, and dental surgery).
- A university degree in medicine with a focus on medical product development or a degree in medical engineering, data science, or economics with a similar focus.
- Demonstrable experience and success in managing research and/or development projects, preferably with international collaboration.
- Proven ability to engage effectively with customers, colleagues, and scientific partners, coupled with organized and efficient working methods.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with a strong command of English.
- Willingness to travel internationally as part of your role.
- A passion for innovation and enthusiasm for emerging technologies, with a preference for working in agile, interdisciplinary teams.
