Job Description

Gerresheimer Lohr GmbH in Germany develops and produces packaging glass for the Consumer HealthCare segment (dropper and syrup bottles or tablet glasses) as well as chemical and laboratory bottles for globally operating companies from the pharmaceutical and chemical industries under strict hygiene and cleanroom conditions. In addition, solutions for packaging in brown and clear glass are developed and produced at the site for leading market participants in the food and beverage industry. These include, in addition to beer bottle specialties, other beverage and spirits bottles as well as, for example, spice and instant glass containers, oil, spice, or sauce bottles. The cataloged offer currently includes several hundred standard forms and a large number of customer-specific forms.

As a Smart Factory Engineer (m/w/d), you will be responsible for the following tasks at our site in Lohr:

  • First point of contact for user inquiries and first-level support for our local Manufacturing Execution System (MES) and connected peripheral systems (e.g. machine data connection, SAP SAC, Grafana)
  • Training of new employees in Smart Factory applications
  • Management of user accounts and permissions
  • Participation in the monthly MES Key-User Call with decision-making competence for the plant
  • Responsibility for the examination and implementation of new functions
  • Connection of new systems and maintenance of connected systems as well as coordination with the global Smart Factory team
  • Responsibility for the operation of the machine data connection as well as support for the connection of new machines
  • Coordination with external suppliers and internal departments
  • Inventory and documentation of all OT systems as well as ensuring security updates, backups, and emergency plans
  • Coordination of updates of control systems (e.g. SPS)
Requirements
  • Completed vocational training or studies in the field of information technology or a technical field
  • Experience in supporting Smart Factory applications
  • Good understanding of production processes and relationships
  • Knowledge of SAP systems or control programming is an advantage
  • Team skills and good communication skills
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Fluent German and English skills
