Game Narrative Architect

As a Game Narrative Architect, you will engage in the development of a game's storyline, shaping the narratives behind various locations and objects, crafting the narrative for quests, and contributing to the player's emotional experience.

The primary goal of the Narrative Architect within the Anno series is to produce emotionally resonant and immersive narrative components, such as questlines, that draw players into enchanting realms, bringing both historical and imaginative settings to life through careful design and meticulous attention to detail.

This position serves as a temporary cover role.

Key Responsibilities:

• Creating quests and narrative-focused content
• Utilizing internal tools to implement designed content
• Planning necessary assets for the development of your content
• Collaborating with various departments within a multidisciplinary team for content production
• Integrating provided assets (including gameplay elements, items, dialogue, etc.) into a cohesive, engaging, and unique experience
• Assisting the Game Design team in establishing systems and frameworks to enhance the game experience throughout, not limited to story-driven segments
• Ensuring the highest quality of quests and addressing reported issues
• Developing and maintaining design documentation

Qualifications:

What you bring to the table:

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in the gaming industry
• Experience with at least one released commercial AAA title is advantageous
• Ability to translate emotionally impactful narratives into engaging Anno gameplay
• Fundamentals of storytelling
• Experience with implementing content using Ubisoft's internal tools
• A keen eye for detail, particularly in narrative consistency and historical accuracy
• A collaborative spirit, with the ability to work independently within a project framework
• Proactive mindset, anticipating project needs with a high level of self-motivation and initiative
• Willingness to learn and seek constructive feedback
• Excellent communication skills and a positive attitude
• Fluency in English, both spoken and written
• Familiarity with the Anno franchise and strategy games is a plus
• Demonstrated variety in writing style is a plus
