The Risk Management Division is a specialized team responsible for overseeing the firm's credit, market, liquidity, operational, and capital risks. Our role involves evaluating the creditworthiness of counterparties, monitoring market fluctuations related to trading activities, and providing analytical and regulatory compliance support, all of which are vital to the firm's overall success. OPERATIONAL RESILIENCE
The Operational Resilience Department at Goldman Sachs functions as an independent risk management entity tasked with creating and executing a standardized framework to identify, assess, and monitor operational risks throughout the organization.
This Associate, Operational Resilience position is designed for a professional with expertise dedicated to actively enhancing and reinforcing the components of the firm's operational risk management framework. The role entails the continuous identification, monitoring, measurement, and evaluation of the firm's global operational resilience landscape.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Comprehend the approach of European regulatory bodies towards operational resilience, including regional nuances and requirements, and incorporate these expectations into the operational resilience framework.
- Facilitate the implementation of the firm's Operational Resilience framework for the European legal entities of Goldman Sachs.
- Oversee firmwide assessments of recovery strategies, including home working environments, recovery sites, and function handovers.
- Execute resilience planning enhancement activities to ensure timely and quality execution.
- Conduct analyses to evaluate the firm's compliance with various regulatory requirements and frameworks for Operational Resilience.
- Assist in establishing and maintaining qualitative and quantitative operational resilience metrics for EMEA legal entities.
- Continuously monitor, trigger, escalate, and mitigate relevant metrics.
- Identify and lead initiatives aimed at improving risk management practices within the firm.
- Stay informed about operational resilience events and data collection, including necessary reporting; perform detailed trend analyses to identify significant risks and ensure appropriate monitoring and remediation.
- Prepare and present commercially viable strategies to Operational Risk senior management and business stakeholders.
EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
- 3 to 5+ years of relevant experience in risk management.
- Understanding of the key operations and functions of a global investment banking institution.
- Familiarity with the global resilience regulatory landscape, particularly within the European Union and Switzerland, including Digital Operational Resilience Act requirements.
- Experience in formulating strategy and collaborating with cross-organizational working groups for implementation.
- Strong client and stakeholder management skills, with excellent interpersonal communication abilities, both verbal and written.
- Capability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with a strong focus on delivery.
