Transportation Engineer

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Mobility Planner to join our team at the City of Dortmund. As a key member of our transportation planning department, you will play a crucial role in shaping the city's mobility strategy and ensuring the efficient movement of people and goods.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement transportation plans and policies that promote sustainable mobility and reduce congestion
  • Conduct analysis and research to identify transportation needs and opportunities for improvement
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, including residents, businesses, and other government agencies, to develop and implement transportation solutions
  • Develop and manage budgets and resources to support transportation projects and initiatives
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest transportation trends and technologies and apply this knowledge to inform transportation planning decisions
  • Develop and maintain relationships with transportation stakeholders, including transportation providers, community groups, and other government agencies
  • Provide technical assistance and support to other city departments and agencies on transportation-related issues
  • Develop and implement transportation-related policies and procedures to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in transportation planning, urban planning, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in transportation planning or a related field
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to collect and analyze data to inform transportation planning decisions
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to collaboration and teamwork
  • Strong knowledge of transportation planning principles, policies, and procedures, including relevant laws and regulations
  • Ability to stay up-to-date with the latest transportation trends and technologies
