Job Description

As a Launch Engineer at Tenneco, you will be responsible for leading local strategic projects, industrialization, and manufacturing activities in the production of CTOH sound dampers. Your tasks will include project management, planning, development, and implementation of manufacturing concepts, taking into account aspects such as layouts, alternative connection/mounting processes, production concepts, supplier development, production planning, increasing value-added depth, Lean Manufacturing, and Industry 4.0.

Responsibilities

• Project leadership of local strategic projects, industrialization, and manufacturing activities in the production of CTOH sound dampers
• Planning, development, and implementation of manufacturing concepts, taking into account aspects such as layouts, alternative connection/mounting processes, production concepts, supplier development, production planning, increasing value-added depth, Lean Manufacturing, and Industry 4.0
• Leadership of the operational part of the offer process, collaboration with the finance department, program management, and production teams, including calculation of required investments for equipment, peripherals, tooling costs, and operating materials
• Responsibility for maintaining project and industrialization budgets, timelines, and introduction KPIs (e.g., cycle time, OEE, rejects) and supporting production ramp-up
• Coordination and leadership of manufacturability analyses and design optimizations regarding manufacturability and production costs, together with specialist departments
• Leading, coordinating, and supporting ongoing production improvements that positively impact EBIT, including process optimization, machine, resources, materials, rejects, and inventory
• Ensuring proper communication and documentation between involved locations and within interdisciplinary teams
• Representation of central operational functions in the project core team, at gate reviews, and for customer communication during plant visits and audits, ensuring proper documentation and presentation

Requirements

• Completed technical/natural science studies, mechanical engineering or comparable
• Long-term professional experience in the field of launch management/technical project leadership
• Several years of experience in the field of production, industrial engineering, or technical project management
• Fluent German and English language skills in writing and speaking
• Safe handling of MS Office applications and preparation of presentations for the management level
• Team player
• Excellent analytical skills and independent working style with a high level of engagement, flexibility, and resilience
• High team spirit and very good and developed communication skills and intercultural competences
