We are seeking a highly skilled Postdoctoral Researcher to join our team at DESY. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing advanced statistical methods for data analysis within the ATLAS experiment at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC).
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and deploy simulation-based inference (SBI) and diffusion methods for data analysis
- Analyze large datasets from the ATLAS experiment to extract valuable insights
- Collaborate with our team to extend the SBI toolkit on distributed computing systems
- Apply SBI methods to analyze LHC data and improve our understanding of particle physics
- PhD in Physics or Informatics
- Excellent knowledge of particle physics and statistical data analysis
- Experience with machine learning and open-source libraries such as PyTorch or TensorFlow
- Proficiency in Python and C++ object-oriented programming
- Experience with distributed computing systems, HPCs, and containerization
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
