Power Trading Data Scientist

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Scientist to join our team at E Energy Markets GmbH. As a key member of our European energy trading team, you will be responsible for building and developing quantitative models to support our trading activities.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and maintain complex quantitative models to analyze and forecast energy market trends
- Collaborate with traders and analysts to identify and develop price forecasting models relevant for commercial decision making
- Leverage coding skills to develop efficient models and automate workflows
- Compile and analyze time series data for model inputs and automate model result processing
- Work closely with our IT and Quant departments to develop and implement new tools and technologies
- Produce regular reports and documentation on model development and performance
- University degree in a quantitative field such as mathematics, engineering, economics, or data science
- Significant experience in market analysis from an energy trading background
- Expertise in econometric/statistical and fundamental modelling, preferably in a European context
- Strong understanding of power market concepts such as security-constrained economic dispatch, unit-commitment, and nodal/zonal price formation
- Proficiency in mathematical modelling languages such as GAMS, Python, or Julia, and familiarity with databases such as SQL and PostgreSQL
