Physicist Underwriter

We are seeking a highly skilled Physicist Underwriter to join our team at Hannover Re. As a key member of our Advanced Solutions team, you will play a crucial role in developing and implementing innovative reinsurance solutions for our clients.
Key Responsibilities- Reinsurance Placement: You will be responsible for managing the entire reinsurance placement process, from sourcing business to pricing and final decision-making.
- Business Sourcing and Assessment: You will source, accept, and evaluate requests for structured reinsurance concepts and create tailored solutions for insurance customers.
- Contract Management: You will manage and renew existing reinsurance contracts, planning, steering, controlling, and coordinating business data in accordance with defined quality standards.
- Portfolio Analysis: You will conduct actuarial analyses and projections to manage the profitability of reinsurance contracts.
- Business Relationship Management: You will cultivate contacts with existing and new business partners, meeting them personally on a regular basis.
- Collaboration: You will work closely with colleagues in traditional underwriting departments, local offices, and service departments.
- Master's Degree in Physics: You must hold a Master's degree in physics or a related field.
- Actuarial and Economic Knowledge: You should have a strong interest in actuarial and economic issues.
- Independence and Flexibility: You must possess a high degree of independence and flexibility.
- Language Skills: You should be fluent in English and have conversational German skills.
- Travel Requirements: You must be willing to travel worldwide, approximately five to six times a year.
- Analytical and Communication Skills: You should have an analytical and solution-oriented way of thinking, as well as strong (intercultural) communication skills.
- Flexibility: A hybrid work model with flexible working hours and 30 days of annual leave.
- Work Abroad: Up to 20 days a year within the EU Member States, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, and Switzerland.
