This position plays a crucial role in shaping and executing Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) strategies that tackle significant challenges faced by Quantis clients. Your objective will be to keep Quantis at the forefront of sustainability expertise, enhancing the quality and effectiveness of our recommendations to facilitate client transformation while continuously refining our service offerings.

As a Sustainability Expert - ESG Strategy, your responsibilities will include:

  • Serving as a key authority in ESG Strategy for Quantis, applying your strategic sustainability consulting expertise across various client engagements.
  • Building trustworthy relationships with senior client representatives, guiding them from the initial brief to the formulation of ESG strategies, assisting in ESG data collection and reporting, and creating communication and engagement solutions for both internal teams and customers.

Success in this role will be evident if you:

  • Can lead strategic projects focused on environmental sustainability.
  • Possess strong client-facing abilities, with a keen understanding of client requirements.
  • Have mastered areas of sustainability expertise such as Environmental, Social, and Governance strategy (both corporate and product-focused), target setting, materiality assessment, CSRD, reporting, sustainability communication and marketing, and change management solutions for sustainability.

  • With over 5 years of experience, you have honed your ESG strategy skills in a professional environment, including some exposure to consulting and the private sector.
  • You can swiftly grasp complex technical subjects and convey them to a non-technical audience.
  • You are capable of defining sustainability strategies, action plans, and target settings.
  • You have experience addressing sustainability topics and reporting challenges, particularly concerning CRSD, non-financial disclosures, CDP reporting, and the design and development of ESG strategies.
  • You can manage stakeholder engagement initiatives, including but not limited to designing ESG strategies, conducting materiality assessments, delivering CSRD-aligned gap analyses, and preparing sustainability reports with compelling narratives.
  • You have collaborated with senior corporate executives and are comfortable navigating challenging discussions.
  • You exhibit self-confidence, capable of both listening and assertively advising C-suite clients when necessary.
  • You are enthusiastic about teamwork and supporting your colleagues.
  • You are passionate about guiding organizations in understanding and crafting transformative and science-based strategies.
  • You have demonstrated the ability to coach, teach, and mentor others with your knowledge and skills in both academic and corporate settings.
  • You communicate effectively in fluent German and English.

AS A SUSTAINABILITY EXPERT, YOUR DAILY WORK WILL INVOLVE:

  • Collaborating closely with our Global and Branch Communication & Engagement teams to manage and deliver projects while developing new business opportunities.
  • Creating innovative solutions to tackle challenges related to sustainability strategies, communication, and engagement, in partnership with other Sustainability Experts and Strategists.
  • Providing clients with strong consultancy support from the initial brief to the delivery of exceptional ESG strategy outputs.
  • Crafting engaging narratives that translate environmental metrics into relevant communication materials across various formats, including digital and print media, presentations, reports, infographics, brochures, and videos.
  • Clearly explaining standard Quantis solutions and their interrelations in a credible and persuasive manner.
  • Proactively identifying additional sales opportunities with existing clients.
  • Reviewing operating budgets to incorporate additional services.
  • Mentoring and guiding Sustainability Specialists.
  • Identifying process or system enhancements to boost project team efficiency.
  • Ensuring the successful execution of projects at every stage of your work.
