The Karlsruher Institut für Technologie (KIT) is seeking a highly motivated and qualified individual to join our research team as a Ph.D. student/research assistant in the field of IT-Security and Explainable AI (XAI).
About the Research Group
The chair of Artificial Intelligence & Security conducts top-level research at the intersection of computer security and artificial intelligence. Our team develops learning-based methods for attack detection and vulnerability discovery in software, as well as researches the robustness and security of artificial intelligence.
Research Focus
Our research focuses on the following areas:
- Detection and prevention of attacks against computer systems
- Analysis of attacks and malware
- Discovery of vulnerabilities and fuzz testing (Fuzzing)
- Detection of attacks against machine learning ML backdoors
- Adversarial examples
- Model stealing and membership inference
Requirements
We seek excellent candidates with a Master's degree in computer science or a related field, as well as very good knowledge in computer security and/or machine learning. Above all, however, you need to show enthusiasm for conducting research on cutting-edge topics in computer security and artificial intelligence and be willing to tackle the most challenging problems.
Working Conditions
As a member of our research group, you will have the opportunity to work on exciting projects, collaborate with national and international research facilities, and utilize our own server/cluster infrastructure to support your research.
Salary and Benefits
The salary category is 13 TV-L, depending on the fulfillment of professional and personal requirements.
